Have you ever recognized that thoughts which came to your mind were not yours? Have you ever been in a bad mood, and it is not your personality to act in that fashion? Every religion in the world, that I am aware of, recognizes there is an unseen spirit world. The Bible, the only true scriptures from the true Creator God, is replete with acknowledging there is a spirit world.
The Bible says clearly in John 4:24 that “God IS a Spirit.” God reveals in Hebrews 1:7 “And of the angels He says, Who makes His angels SPIRITS…” God also reveals there were “…angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, …” – Jude 6.
The Bible also tells us that God’s faithful angels fought a spiritual battle with unfaithful angels. The unfaithful angels lost that battle. Where did they go and for what purpose? Revelation 12: 7-9: “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which DECEIVES the WHOLE WORLD: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
There are SPIRIT entities that are invisible to the human eye. They have a job in which they never grow tired of performing – DECEIVING!!! The important question is: can a person of God be deceived? There are many forms of deception. Our own selfish human nature can be used against us. These ungodly, unclean spirits can manipulate thoughts and make us think they are our own. They can make us hear words that someone has spoken that are totally different than what was really said. They can blind our eyes to written words and make them appear as different words to create chaos.
The Bible tells us to combat these wrong thoughts that have been implanted into our minds for the purpose of separating families. They are to be combated in order to prevent us from falling away and losing salvation!
The Apostle Peter was inspired to write the following: “HUMBLE yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. Casting ALL your care upon Him; for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; BECAUSE your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom He may devour: Whom RESIST stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflications are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world” (I Peter 5:6-9).
We are not battling flesh and blood human beings. When we have problems with others, it could mean there is an unseen spiritual influence stirring up someone’s mind. King David was a man after God’s own heart, but was manipulated by Satan. It took a heavy weight called Satan, to use his experience to cause David to make a wrong decision! “And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel” (I Chronicles 21:1). Provoke in the Hebrew language means “to stir up.”
Could any of us be “stirred up” to draw a wrong conclusion? Could any of us have a wrong thought concerning someone because we were “stirred up” or “manipulated” by the unseen world? We have been told in the Bible the truth concerning the spirit world, especially the “fallen” angels that are in rebellion to God and oppose us. “Put on the WHOLE ARMOUR of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6: 11). Apparently, these evil angels are very powerful. This scripture makes it clear that it can be difficult to STAND AGAINST them!!! Paul writes even more, so we can understand what we are dealing with. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood [fellow human beings], but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against WICKED SPIRITS [margin] in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).
Our battle is not with each other, but with wicked spirits that want to destroy us, DEVOUR US! The Bible said clearly they have deceived the whole world!!! That means that unconverted friends could be a stumbling block for you and not even realize it. They may want you to do things that come naturally to them, but it may be sin. They may not understand, but you should, and resist. You cannot risk going along to get along. You must take a stand for God’s truth that you have learned. We are living in the “last days.” Satan and his angels are going to assault the people on planet Earth with a passion. We cannot understand because we have been called of God, and do not hate Him like Satan. “Wherefore take unto you the WHOLE ARMOUR of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to STAND” (Ephesians 6:13). God will bless you if you recognize your real enemy and take a stand against him!!!
