Battle for the Birthright!

By David J. Smith
January 30, 2010

There is a real spirit world that many people have overlooked. Because these “spirits” are invisible to the human eye, people have a tendency to disregard any thought of their activity in human affairs.

However, these “spirits,” led by Satan the Devil, have set up whatever form of religion you want, to keep your eyes off God’s true way of life. In ancient Egypt they worshipped both gods and goddesses. They were really “fallen angels” who had transgressed against the One True God’s way of life.

Some of the Israelites took images of these “false gods” with them out of Egypt. God brought plagues upon the Israelites until these images were found and discarded.

But Abraham had another son that the promises were not made through his seed – Ishmael. The “promises” of the coming Messiah and the birthright for inheritance of the greatest wealth any nation or peoples had ever amassed was to go through Isaac, Jacob [Israel], and Joseph (I Chronicles 5: 1-2).

Ishmael was exceedingly jealous of Isaac receiving the “promises” because he was born thirteen years before and was the firstborn in his own eyes. However, the birth of Ishmael should never have occurred. Sarah offered her handmaiden to Abram to fulfill the “promises” God made to Abram. She thought God needed help to fulfill the “promise” of a son to carry on the family name and receive the “promises” at the precise time in history.

The Bible forecast that Ishmael would “be a wild man; his [descendants] hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren” (Genesis 16: 11-12).

Israel remained under the leadership of the True God, but Ishmael did not. Ishmael grew, as God said, in numbers. They lived alongside of Israel. The Messiah, the Son of God, came and died for the sins of the world. Christianity sprang up. Satan and his angels took note. They caused a merging of paganism with Christianity, so the Middle Ages saw a paganized Christianity – not the truth, but rather a counterfeit.

Ishmael wanted the birthright back – but not actually thinking in those terms. Satan sent visions and dreams to a man named Mohammad in 610 AD. He wasn’t sure if they were from God or the Devil, but his wife convinced him they were from God, and he was to be God’s prophet. The descendants of Ishmael worshipped 650 different gods. Mohammad came along and forced the reduction of gods down to one – Allah.

Demons gave him what to write down in what eventually became the Koran. Satan and his angels, invisible to the human eye, had now given the world a “false” Christianity and the “false” Muslim religion.

God promised Ishmael would have a large population and twelve princes would come from his descendants, but God’s covenant would be established with Isaac (Genesis 17: 20-21).

Wars raged, starting in 632 AD and continued during the Middle Ages, between the Roman Empire and the Arab Ottoman Empire. The Crusaders from Europe were composed of some of the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel who live in modern day France, Great Britain, the low countries of Belgium, Holland, and Luxembourg, as well as Spain, Sweden, and Italy.

The battles were for ownership of Jerusalem that was holy to both religions. The [un]Holy Roman Empire said “you convert to our religion or die as a heretic.” The Muslims had been given an [un]holy book that taught the unbeliever in Allah, called an infidel, must convert or die.

The stage was set for blood to flow wherever the two religions met face-to-face. True Christianity is concerned about developing the Divine nature of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. The Bible says clearly in John 15 we must “bear fruit” that shall remain a part of our character – love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, longsuffering, faith, self-control, etc. The Bible says you will know REAL Christians by their fruit!!!

Look at the history of the Roman Catholic Church when they had absolute control during the Middle Ages. It was one of violence, deceit, drunkenness, confiscation of the property of anyone accused of being a heretic. The list goes on and on.

Look at the violent history of Islam until this very moment in history. They hold training camps to teach terrorism. They blow up innocent people. They plot to overthrow countries and exact THEIR Islamic law upon the citizens. They want the birthright!!! They have signs that say “THERE IS NO SON OF GOD – ALLAH IS THE ONLY GOD.”

Is it any wonder people are turned off to God? Where is someone living His words? The TRUE Church, I hope!!!
