Loving One Another!!!

By David J. Smith

With the rush in the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, we must take a bold stand to endure. None of us can be called the “great of the world.” Jesus has called the “weak” of the world to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1: 26-29). Jesus has sent out a special calling for some to become the firstfruits of His harvest. He was the very first person with a flesh and blood body to be resurrected to a glorified spirit composed body. We are waiting for the Seventh Trump (I Thes. 4: 13-17; I Cor. 15: 50-57; Rev. 11: 15, 18).

We just do not know how much persecution we will see and be a part of until the last 3 ½ years when the “place in the wilderness” will be a safe haven for some. We need to remember Jesus’ words to “seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matt. 6:33). Obtaining the goal of being born into the kingdom of God should be our greatest priority. Those who will rule in that kingdom will be righteous.

We all know the flesh makes us weak, but Jesus’ intervention in our lives can make us strong, if we allow Him to lead us by His Holy Spirit. Our lives are now hid in Christ Jesus. We appear to be just ordinary people, but Christ IN us makes us different. Our sins, weaknesses of the flesh, can be and are being forgiven. This makes us justified in God the Father’s eyes.

From the time we were baptized, we came into a covenant relationship with God. By forgiving us of our sins, we are now HOLY. God said, “I am holy, be you holy.” Our flesh sometimes does not want to remain holy, but that is where the leadership of the Holy Spirit comes into play. The Spirit will, so to speak, nudge us if we are about to do wrong. It is then up to us to fight the fleshly appetites and be an overcomer.

The Bible says resist the Devil, and he will flee from us. In like manner, we must flee sin when we recognize that a weakness is about to overtake us. Example: A single person about to commit fornication must get up and run out of the room to prevent sin. The Bible states “Flee fornication,” not pursue it! The flesh is weak, but Christ in us is the HOPE OF GLORY.

We should not want to be the prodigal son that delved into sin, and found he had wasted years of developing the fruit of the Spirit, that makes us more like Jesus. If we have made a covenant with God through Jesus, now is our time to stand up and be counted as an obedient child of God. Luke wrote Jesus’ words concerning this standing before the Son of man. “Watch you therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” (Luke 21: 36).

We must stand tall for Him today if He is to protect us tomorrow, when the going gets rough! Jesus inspired the writer of the Book of Hebrews to pen: “For if we sin willfully AFTER that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains NO MORE SACRIFICE for sins” (Heb. 10: 26). He also wrote: “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were MADE PARTAKERS of the Holy Spirit, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, IF THEY SHALL FALL AWAY, TO RENEW THEM AGAIN UNTO REPENTANCE; seeing they CRUCIFY TO THEMSELVES the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame” (Heb. 6: 4-6).

It is time for us to rise above the “flesh” and quit using it as an excuse to continue to sin. Resistance to the flesh and its passions BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT is our only option. God the Father and Jesus love you with all their hearts. They have chosen YOU (John 15: 16). They want and expect you and me to produce Godly fruit. That dynamic spiritual character is to become part of our very being. It is to last for eternity.

It is as if God was reproducing His character over inside of us. IT MUST BE THIS WAY! We have been hand selected by Jesus to become kings and priests in God’s kingdom (Rev. 5: 9-10). We have been hand picked to become judges also (Rev. 20: 4, 6).

If we could only get it through our heads how much God loves us and respects us, we could love and respect one another much easier. Jesus loves us unconditionally. If we could only learn to love each other unconditionally also, we would be happy and content. When we cannot love God’s way, we just will not drop matters. We continue to be restless and unfulfilled with life. Why not do it God’s way? Tell your mate and children you love them. Tell your best friend other than your mate that you love them as a brother or sister. Don’t let fear stand in your way of loving others and even expressing it to them from time to time. Let the life Jesus has called us to come alive in you. John 13: 34-35 says all men will know you are His disciples, if we love one another. Try it – you’ll like it!
