There is no doubt that God is calling individuals to prepare for rulership in His kingdom. Revelation 1: 5-6 tells us clearly that Jesus has made us unto God the Father “kings and priests.” He followed in Revelation 5: 9-10 that He “has made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
This earth is where the problems are: 1) people with human nature, which is a downward pull toward sin and depravity; 2) Satan and his angels are here to DECEIVE the WHOLE WORLD! The key is that God is responsible for changing our human nature to His divine nature and to remove the deceivers of the world.
In order to achieve these goals and give the human race everlasting life, He decided, before the foundation of the world, to call a certain number of people to receive a BETTER resurrection (Hebrews 11: 35b).
Listen carefully and understand! Angels have eternal life as long as they do not sin. The Bible reveals the angels that rebelled against God sinned. “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, …” (2 Peter 2: 4). The Lake of Fire will be prepared for the devil and his angels that sinned (Matthew 25:41).
The masses of humanity will be offered eternal life during the thousand-year reign of Jesus. As long as they live God’s way of life, they will live on and on.
God allows the writers of the Bible to mention immortality only four times. There has been mass confusion over the destiny of the human race as a result. Those that God is calling to become kings and priests TODAY are currently seeking immortality (Romans 2: 7-8). Jesus is the ONLY person who has lived in a flesh and blood body that has received immortality (1 Timothy 6: 13-16). Jesus came to the human race and revealed that there is such a thing as immortality (2 Timothy 1: 9-10). Jesus called and sent the apostle Paul to teach His truth. He inspired Paul to write: “Now this I say … that flesh and blood [our current state] CANNOT inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption [a rotting, decaying body] inherit incorruption. … We shall not all sleep [die], but WE [saints] shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. … this mortal must put on IMMORTALITY. … then shall be brought to pass the saying written, Death is swallowed up in victory” (I Corinthians 15: 50-54).
1) Jesus has immortality. 2) He revealed the possibility of receiving it to the human race. 3) Human beings are presently seeking immortality. 4) Only those who are changed at the LAST [seventh] TRUMP will receive immortality. 5) All others will receive everlasting life as long as they do not rebel against God.
Jesus said His church would never die out. His knowledge would remain in the earth. He will call individuals to fill the positions of kings, priests, and judges in His kingdom. There is a vast difference in everlasting life as long as you don’t sin and receiving immortality with the Father’s character built into you, so you cannot sin. That very fact would qualify you to rule in God’s kingdom forever and ever with no end. You would never even be tempted with sin, as God is not tempted by sin.
The above facts found written in the word of God is the very reason why Jesus said to count the cost before following Him. He said we must be willing to die or give up our country for His sake if necessary. He said we should not let our visible relatives turn us back to the world. We cannot let an un-converted mate cause us to change our mind and forfeit immortality. We must not let loneliness, if we are not married, cause us to lose focus of our destiny – the kingdom of God with an immortal body! We must not become unequally yoked together with unbelievers that could damage or destroy our relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ. We must not hob-knob with worldly people who live strictly by the flesh and all of the worldly desires that cause sin!
Will God’s call to Sonship be heeded? Will we endure unto the end, as Jesus said is required? “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Matthew 24: 13). Surely, none of us who have started to walk God’s way wants Hebrews 6: 4-6 to be applied to us: “For it is impossible for those [US] who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall FALL AWAY, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.” Will God’s call to Sonship be heeded by YOU??? I pray so!
