Not One Jew Until Judah Was Born!

By David J. Smith

Professing Christians have a real Biblical problem, yet they don’t know it. They have been taught that all of Israel is Jews. How could this be? Abraham was a Hebrew – not a Jew. Isaac and Jacob were never called Jews. To be exact, no one in Israel was called a Jew until after the rebellion of the Ten Northern Tribes against King David’s grandson – Rehoboam (1 Kings 11-12, read them all). Rehoboam wanted to levy heavier taxes than King Solomon did. As a result, “So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.”

There still was not anyone called a Jew at that time. They were simply the “house of Judah [Tribe of Judah and Benjamin] and the house of Israel [Northern Ten Tribes that rebelled against heavy taxation levied by Rehoboam].” They became two distinct nations – Judah and Israel!!!

The first time we ever read in the Bible that Judah was nicknamed Jews was found in 2 Kings 16:5-6, “Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son Remali of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him. At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drove the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there unto this day.” Here was a war where Israel was allied with Syria AGAINST the Jews. Truly, Israel had separated from Judah, both becoming separate nations.

When the separation first happened, the king of Judah was ready to fight against Israel to force them back into the kingdom of Judah. A note worthy event took place that kept them separated from that day forward. I Kings 12:21-24, “And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, and hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon. But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying, Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the people, saying, Thus says the Lord, You shall NOT go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing [separation] is FROM ME. They hearkened therefore to the word of the Lord, and returned to depart, according to the word of the Lord.

God was the One who separated Israel into the house of Judah and the house of Israel. The word Jew is a “nickname” for Judah. Israel had twelve sons, of which one was named Judah. This became the kingly line through which king David came. It was not until AFTER David’s and Solomon’s death did the word Jew appear in the Bible.

The Jewish Encyclopedia reveals yet another group that called themselves Jews. Under the article “Chazar – History of,” you will find a group from Turkish descent that lived on the edge of Russia and Turkey. They had a king named Joseph ruling over them about 750AD. King Joseph invited a rabbi from Judea, a Muslim, and Christian to explain their religions. King Joseph selected Judaism to become their national religion. They called themselves “Jews” also because they accepted the religion of Judaism!

Why is all this important? It leads people away from accuracy in Bible prophesy! The Bible may be referring to someone besides the Jews when it says house of Israel. The Twelve Tribes split into two separate dynasties of kings as is revealed in I & 2 Kings and I & 2 Chronicles. Prophesies for the LAST DAYS could be for the house of Judah [nicknames Jews] or for the house of Israel [Ten Lost Tribes].

The most talked about nations in Bible prophesy are mentioned under these names – not their modern day names. We have proven in our 512-page book, The History of God’s People and the Coming New World Order, who the Lost Ten Tribes are and their part in “end time” events.

They, lost Israel, are the most talked about people in the Bible. They ARE NOT the Jews [tribe of Judah and Chazar Jews], rather they are Joseph’s two sons Ephraim and Manasseh. They were prophesied to become a “company of nations and the single greatest nation on earth” in the last days (Genesis 48-49).

Why would God leave out of Bible prophecy the greatest nation that ever existed and his brother nation that would become a commonwealth of nations – both in the last days exactly as the Bible said? Thank you Father!!!
