Hope For the Saints!

By David J. Smith
June 23, 2012

Hope is a wonderful thing! When we understand the prophecies of the Bible, we realize there will be hard times at the “end” of the age. The powerful sixth seal will unleash the most devastating earthquake in the history of the world.

Asteroids will plunge into the ocean and a land area that will devastate the human race. Depopulation will take place, whether we believe it or not. According to Jeremiah 30:4-7, this will be the time of Jacob’s trouble. The Lost Ten Tribes of Israel plus Judah and Benjamin will be involved in these terrible events, as will the world at large.

Isaiah 24 describes the world flipping on its axis resulting in 90 percent of the world’s population become extinct. For those involved, there is NO HOPE at this time.

Jesus told His saints to “Watch you therefore, and PRAY always, that you may be accounted worthy to ESCAPE all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” (Luke 21:36).

Notice the good and the bad: “And you, son of man [Ezekiel], take you a sharp knife, take you a barber’s razor, and cause it to pass upon your head and upon your beard: then take you balances to weigh, and divide the hair. You shall BURN with fire a third part in the middle of the city, when the days of the SIEGE are fulfilled: and you shall take a third part, and smite about it with a knife: and a third part you shall scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword [war] after them. You shall also take thereof a few in number, and bind them in your skirts. [#3671-3670 – “BE REMOVED”]. Then take of them again, and cast them into the middle of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for therefore shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel” (Ezekiel 5:1-4).

Some will escape the problems that are coming upon the modern house of Israel. Why? Because they are saints of God, and obey Him, while the remainder are in a state of disobedience!!! HOPE for the few saints!!!

There is coming persecution of the saints by Satan and his fallen angels. Notice: “… he persecuted the woman [true church] which brought forth the man child [Jesus]. And to the woman [church] were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished [fed] for a time, and times, and half a time [3 ½ years], from the face of the serpent [Satan]. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood [military] after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away [into concentration camps] of the flood. And the earth [Greek – region] helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood [military – Isaiah 59:19] which the dragon cast out of his mouth” (Revelation 12:13 [last] – 16).

Once again HOPE for the faithful saints!!! V. 17 shows there will be many that will be persecuted. They are saints because they KEEP the commandments and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. They will come out of the great tribulation with washed robes of the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 7:1-4 reveals 144,000 saints SEALED in their foreheads BEFORE these “end times” catastrophes begin to come to pass. They are sealed for DIVINE PROTECTION. Why? Revelation 14:1-5. Look at v. 4: “These [144,000] are they which were not defiled with women [false doctrines]; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the FIRSTFRUITS unto God and to the Lamb.”

This is wonderful HOPE for following Jesus Christ today. Following Jesus means obeying Him in every way we learn. We are told that ALL scripture is inspired – God breathed – of God. Therefore, EVERY word of God found in the Bible is for our learning and obedience.

Hope is something we have not yet attained to. It is something we look forward to receiving by promise. The One who promised this hope is none other than Jesus Christ.

He has given us hope of escaping these “end time” events! He has given us hope of a resurrection as FIRSTFRUITS – the first ones to be harvested out of the earth with a new glorified body.

Will this hope remain in you until the end? If so, we will see Christ return to COMPLETE this HOPE!!!
