“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Gen. 1:1). The Hebrew word translated God is a uniplural word – #430 in the Strong’s Concordance of the Hebrew language.
The only way you can determine whether this is referring to ONE or TWO individuals is how it is used in the context. “And God said, Let us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness … (Gen. 1:26). From the plural pronouns, we can determine that there were two individuals talking together. We can determine this as a FACT of scripture in another section of the Bible. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,and the Word WAS God. The same was in the beginning WITH God. All things were made BY HIM [the Word]; and without him was not anything made that was made. … And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John1:1-3, 14). The Word came into human flesh and became Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. Notice what is said of Jesus: “Giving thanks unto the Father; which has made us meet [suitable] to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in
light: Who [the Father] has delivered us from the power of DARKNESS, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son [Jesus]. In whom we have REDEMPTION through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: FOR BY HIM [Jesus] were ALL things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is BEFORE ALL THINGS, and by him all things consist: And he is the Head of the body, the church …” (Col. 1:12-18). Jesus was the Word – God – WITH the Father before the creation of our Planet. He created the first parents – Adam and Eve. He commanded them His perfect way. We don’t know how long after Jesus taught Adam and Eve before they were deceived into violation of God’s spiritual Laws that determine sin. I John 3:4 states that “sin IS the transgression of the law.”
