THE LAKE OF FIRE: WHAT AND WHEN ?

A spring of water has been discovered under the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Geologically, this is a possible new development beneath the Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock.

In order to train a new priesthood in the ancient ritual of temple sacrifices, Rabbis in Jerusalem began a "Yeshiva" or Bible School at the base of the Western wall. They began to discover that their books and other materials were becoming moist. There had never been water on Mount Moriah, so they immediately suspected foul play from the Moslems. The Moslems have their own facility just to the east beneath the Dome of the Rock. They both suspected the other of pouring water into the cracks to damage the others materials.

The Moslems had gone to the police with complaints that the Jews were pumping water into their chambers. The Moslems thought the Jews were trying to weaken the foundation of the Dome of the Rock.

According to Zola Levitt, engineers went onto the Temple Mount and discovered a new source of water where none had been found before. Huge amounts of water was transported by the builders on the Temple Mount during the days of Herod and Solomon. Water was never discovered on the Mount until now.

No one has estimated how much water is stored underneath the Mount. The prophet Ezekiel, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, stated: "Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house [Temple on Mt. Moriah]; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. Then brought he me out of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there RAN OUT WATERS ON THE RIGHT SIDE" (Ezek. 47:1-2).

The prophet Zechariah foretold of the identical occurrence WHEN Christ comes. "And it shall be in that day, that LIVING WATERS shall go out from Jerusalem: half of them toward the former sea [Dead Sea], and half of them toward the hinder sea [Mediterranean]: in summer and in winter shall it be" (Zech. 14:8).

HOW WILL THIS TRICKLE OF WATER BECOME PROLIFIC? A RIVER? Notice this water was to HEAL something - A SEA - that is dead!!!

LOCATION OF THE LAKE OF FIRE

The New Testament talks of a LAKE that the Beast and False Prophet will be cast into at the return of Jesus Christ. Also Satan the devil and evil individuals will be cast into this Lake of Fire AFTER the thousand year reign of Jesus and the saints (Rev. 5:10; 20:1-5). This Lake of Fire that renders FINAL judgement will be fueled by BRIMSTONE [an old name for sulfur].

The question becomes, Is a Lake in existence today which is fueled by sulfur and fire burns in the subterranean regions? Such a Lake has been observed for at least 4000 years. Travelers to this Lake region for centuries have reported seeing fire and smoke ascending from the central part of it. Many past testimonies of the smell of SULFUROUS fumes were reported coming FROM the Lake. One scientist in this century has observed a HUE OF ABSINTHE hovering over the Lake. Absinthium is the bitter portion of wormwood, that could not be drunk (Rev. 8:11).

WHERE IS THIS BIBLICAL LAKE LOCATED? Let's investigate!

1) What constitutes a Lake? Dictionary: an area of DEPRESSION in the earth which contains a liquid [normally water]. Lakes have higher ground surrounding it and is the central drainage region that rivers and streams empty into. John used the every day word for "Lake," even though he called it the Lake of Fire.

This Lake has fire associated with it and is fueled by SULFUR. Brimstone in the Strong's Concordance of the Greek language is #2303-2304, SULFUR. This chemical will FEED the flames of the Lake.

1) In Rev. 19:20 John makes it clear that the Lake of Fire will be ACTIVE BEFORE the thousand year reign Jesus will establish. When He comes He will throw the Beast/False Prophet into it.

2) The Beast and False Prophet will be ruling from Jerusalem when Christ comes. Jesus will throw them into the Lake of Fire in the vicinity of Jerusalem. The wicked will be tormented with fire and brimstone "in the PRESENCE of the holy angels, and in the PRESENCE of the Lamb;" (Rev. 14:10-11). This is an exact reference to Isa. 34:8-10: "For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, and the year of recompense for the controversy of Zion. And the streams [of Edom] shall be turned into pitch, and the dust into brimstone, and the land [of Edom] shall become BURNING PITCH. It shall not be quenched night or day; the smoke shall go up for the age: from generation to generation it shall lie waste." This burning of Edom [an area that borders the southern and southeastern portions of the Dead Sea] takes place when "the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be ROLLED TOGETHER AS A SCROLL" (Isa. 34:4) - just like the Book of Revelation states will happen at the Second Coming of Christ (Rev. 6:14). Edom will have its streambeds flow with rivers of fire. The pitch and brimstone will empty into the Dead Sea just east of Jerusalem. Could this area be a part of the Lake of Fire?

3) Death is associated with the Lake of Fire. It is the place of the SECOND DEATH. And Hades [the grave] and Death will be cast into it (Rev. 20:14).

4) The Lake of Fire and Gehenna [another name for 'hell' in the King James Version] are NOT the same. Gehenna is located on the southern edges of Jerusalem, and is sometimes called Tophet. The Valley of Hinnom is not a "Lake."

5) After the White Throne judgement, the Lake of Fire will cease to exist. Rev. 21:4-5 says "the former things [including the Lake of Fire] are passed away. Behold, I make ALL THINGS NEW." This whole region will one day be healed.

These 7 points are only an introduction into the location of the Lake of Fire.
