The Apostle John wrote in Revelation 13:16-18 that a
numbering system would eventually come that would
control WHO could "buy and sell." Unless a person
worships the beast [human ruler], he or she will not be
given this "mark" for "buying and selling."
Professor Carrol Quigley of Georgetown University wrote in his book Tragedy and Hope: "The individual's freedom and choice will be controlled within very narrow alternatives by the FACT that he will be NUMBERED from birth and followed as a number through his educational training, his required military or other public service, his tax contributions, his health and medical requirements, and his final retirement and death benefits."
Zbigniew Brzezinski, National Security Advisor to Jimmy Carter wrote in his book America in the Technetronic Age, 1968: "The capacity to assert social and political CONTROL over the individual will vastly increase. It will soon be possible to assert almost CONTINUOUS surveillance over EVERY citizen and to maintain up-to-date, complete files, containing even the most personal information about the health or personal behavior of the citizen, in addition to more customary data. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities."
How close are we to such a possibility of total control by this "mark" of Revelation which is a numbering system for identification? The United States Patent Office has issued Patent #5,878,155 on March 2, 1999. This describes the bar-coding of individuals ON the body to be read by scanners just as those that read the bar-codes on products. It calls for INSTANT identification of the individual from the database that stores your bar-code configuration. On the paperwork filed for the Patent are illustrations of the bar-codes ON THE ARM.
The Headline Topic tells the purpose of the Patent: METHOD FOR VERIFYING HUMAN IDENTITY DURING ELECTRONIC SALE TRANSACTIONS. There is also a section:

The GOALS of the political left, the global socialists, and virtually EVERY totalitarian regime in the 20th Century until now, has been to control the people and monitor EVERY aspect of their lives - whether it is Russia, Nazi Germany, Red China, Cuba or North Korea. Now with the advent of our high-tech, computerized world, the devices for people watching, surveillance and control are frightening. They would make super tyrants like Lenin, Stalin, Hitler and Mao green with envy.
Governments at all levels in the U.S. are collecting enormous amounts of data on their citizens - with each adult in America, Europe, and the industrialized West in an average of 300 separate databases.
"Unfortunately, liberal, subversive, or naive politicians, judges, or law enforcement authorities are paving the way for more and more people control measures by legislation, rules, regulations, or court rulings. FOR EXAMPLE: On April 5, 1999, the Supreme Court ruled that police who stop a car to search for evidence of a crime may look inside a passenger's purse, pocketbook, briefcase or billfold, even if they have NO reason to suspect the passenger did anything wrong. This is a warrant-less search and was heretofore believed to be unconstitutional" (MIA, 11/99).
PRIVACY IS A MAJOR ELEMENT OF FREEDOM. It is supposed to be protected by the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Privacy is always ABOLISHED by totalitarian dictators who wish to control and subjugate people.
As a result of the TYRANNICAL separation of the Federal Government in Washington, DC, something very strange is happening. President Jefferson Davis of the Confederacy said that "State's Rights" would rise again. Sixteen States have movements taking place to organize the Southern Party to capture State Legislatures via the ballot box and declare an Independent South as a nation.
