Dear Newswatch Magazine Listeners/Readers:
A ccording to Daniel's prophecy, Jesus would come on the scene and die without receiving His kingdom. Then the prince [Roman General] that would come later would destroy the sanctuary and stop the daily sacrifices. I will now quote from the New International Version, Dan. 9:26-27. "After the sixty-two sevens, the Anointed One will be cut off and HAVE NOTHING [Jesus did not establish His kingdom]. The people [Romans] of the ruler who will come will destroy the city [happened in 70 AD] and the sanctuary. [Now the prophecy skips to the END]. The END will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. He [END TIME anti-christ] will confirm a covenant [peace treaty guaranteeing the safety of Israel for the rebuilding of the Temple and reinstitution of animal sacrifices] with many for one SEVEN, but in the MIDDLE of that seven [or 3 1/2] he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And one who causes DESOLATION will PLACE ABOMINATIONS on a wing of the temple UNTIL the END that is decreed is poured out on him."
Here we see conclusively that Christians will be on earth to SEE the abomination of desolations set up IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEVEN YEARS CALLED THE TRIBULATION PERIOD. No pre-tribulation rapture again. Rev. 11:2-3; 13:5; Dan. 12:7 all verify this same 3 1/2 year period at the VERY END after which Jesus smashes the Beast and his system.
MORE OF JESUS' WORDS
When this abomination of desolation is set up in the temple 3 1/2 years into the 7 year period, the heavy tribulation will start (Matt. 24:15-22). Now notice Jesus' words again: "IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION OF THOSE DAYS shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And THEN [immediately after the tribulation - NOT IMMEDIATELY BEFORE AS THE SECRET RAPTURISTS SAY] shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:...and they shall SEE the Son of man COMING [PAROUSIA, but AFTER the tribulation] in the clouds with power and great glory. AND HE SHALL SEND HIS ANGELS WITH A GREAT SOUND OF A TRUMPET, and they shall gather together his ELECT from the four winds..." (Matt. 24:29-31).
Rev. 6:12-16, "...when he had opened the sixth seal,...a great earthquake;...the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth...the heaven departed as a scroll...and every mountain and island were moved out of their places..." Here we see the heavenly signs PRECEDING the return of Jesus.
SO FAR Matthew 24 and Revelation 6 go hand-in-hand. They BOTH teach that saints will GO THROUGH THE TRIBULATION.
WHAT IS THE TRIBULATION?
Theologians have wrongfully thought that the tribulation is God's wrath, and God has NOT appointed us to His wrath. They are RIGHT that we are not appointed to His wrath, BUT THE TRIBULATION IS NOT GOD'S WRATH!!! Rev. 12:9-17, "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the WHOLE WORLD: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him....Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the DEVIL is come down unto you, having GREAT WRATH, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time [to claim to be god and rule the world through the anti-christ]. And...the dragon...PERSECUTED the woman [church, still on earth, and Israel] which brought forth the man child [Jesus]." This END TIME persecuting power will bring WRATH by the power of Satan. Notice what this power does: v. 17, "went to make war with the remnant of her seed, WHICH KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, and have the TESTIMONY of Jesus Christ." Christians being persecuted during the WRATH of Satan.
WRATH OF GOD
Christians will NOT be subject to the wrath of God. While we will go THROUGH the tribulation, which is Satan's wrath, Jesus will COME [parousia], APPEAR [Epiphaneia], be REVEALED [apokalupsis] AFTER the first six seals and during the seventh seal of Revelation
After the sixth seal in Revelation 6, we read v. 17: "For the GREAT DAY OF HIS [God's] WRATH IS COME; and who shall be able to stand?" Following are SEVEN trumpets. Paul said we would be "CAUGHT UP" at the LAST trump. Rev. 11:15,18, "And the seventh angel sounded; ...and THY [God's] wrath is COME...thou shouldest give REWARD unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great."
Jesus will come IN THE CLOUDS and the angels will "catch up" the saints to what looks like a "sea of glass." Rev. 15:1-2, "...seven angels having the seven LAST PLAGUES; for in them is filled up the WRATH of God. And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and THEM that had gotten the victory over the beast...STAND ON THE SEA OF GLASS." God's wrath is on the Beast!
